Timmy at Eight Months

Timmy is eight months old today!

Brothers are the best!
Our baby boy is eight months old today!  He's such a sweet boy and we love watching his personality develop.  This month he enjoys playing on the floor more.  I think the softness of the carpeted living room in the new house has helped with that.  He likes toys he can chew on like rings, blocks, and books.  This month I brought out some of David's old toys, like the activity center we got for free from Fisher Price and an animal pop-up toy.  He likes pressing the buttons on the activity center and watching what happens.  The boys use the animal pop-up toy together.  David presses the buttons to open the doors and make the animals pop-up and Timmy closes all the doors.  It's such a joy to watch them play together.
David likes trying to get Timmy to play catch with him.  He rolls a ball to Timmy and encourages Timmy to roll it back.  Most of the time David just rolls it back to himself, but they both enjoy the interaction.
Timmy sits up well on his own now, though lately he's been known to tip himself over in order to reach a toy that he wants.  Earlier this week rolling started really clicking for him and now he rarely stays where I put him.  He also leans forward while sitting and puts weight on his arms ... one step closer to crawling!
This month he's successfully passed food trials to peaches, green beans, oatmeal, and he's working on applesauce this week (going well).  He's been feeding himself boiled sweet potato chunks most of this month as well as baby rice crackers.  Sunday we introduced him to Cheerios and the next day rice cakes (broken into pieces).  He did well with both new foods, though he loves Cheerios.  Here are some pictures of his eating experiences!

Such a happy boy!

Oh my gosh, he's looking more and more like a big kid and less like a baby! I can't wait to give him hugs and kisses, and David looks like he's learning to be such a great big brother!

Your boys might be the cutest brothers I've ever seen! You can tell how much they love each other.
