So, a little back story. Earlier this month I had a little spotting but I wasn't too worried about it. At Chris' urging I called a friend who is a labor and delivery nurse and she said since the spotting stopped immediately and I was feeling okay I was probably fine. Then she said that if it happened again I needed to go to the ER immediately.
Yesterday it happened again, but the spotting didn't stop. So, Chris, David and I took at trip to the Lompoc ER. They did a blood work up which all came back good. They also did an ultrasound, which was very reassuring. I got to see the baby and the baby's heartbeat. The ultrasound technician as awesome and showed me everything and told me that everything they check for in a normal pregnancy I had. So, the baby seems fine and my hormones are still on board for having a baby, but I was still spotting. Because it didn't look like I was going to miscarry, at least soon, they sent me home. I was on bed rest until the spotting stopped (which it has). And now I'm on pelvic rest (plus as much bed rest as I can get) until I can see my OB doctor, which should be later this week.
The trip to the ER was very long and exhausting - five and a half hours, but David did super great with his pro dad to keep him busy. Last night we all collasped pretty early. Chris didn't have to go to class today anyway so we are all at home together taking it easy. David is incredibly cute and concerned. He brings me comfort objects and tries to keep me warm.
I'm happy that the baby seems to be doing well so far, but I'm also very scared. After an episode of bleeding about 50% of pregnancies end in miscarriage. Please keep us in your prayers. When I have more information I'll post again.
