Timothy's Christening

Timmy's Christening last month was beautiful. It was a great blessing to us to have Holy Trinity Parish welcome us temporarily into their church so that Timmy could have the support of many loved ones on his special day.

Timmy had lots of smiles for Daddy during the beginning of the ceremony.

Timothy gets the sign of the cross on his chest.

Timmy's baptism - he was excited to go into the water (I think he thought it was a bath), put he was increasingly upset when he got pulled out and put back in three times (in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Along with Chris and I, Deacon Bob was there performing the baptism (he performed David's as well), and Chris' grandfather and sister stood in for Timothy's Godparents (they both stood up for David as well, an interesting symmetry for our two boys).

My mother's blessing.

Chris' father's blessing.

Members of both our families that live in Northern California, as well as friends, pictured and not pictured, helped us welcome Timothy into his church family.

After the Christening my in-laws hosted a party to celebrate.
Here I am with my siblings and my cousin. This may be the last complete family shot I have for a while, as my sister Madeline (far right) has joined the Army. It was only by sheer coincidence that we were able to be together - my sister graduated from Basic and arrived home for her family time before her first permanent station the night before Timmy's baptism.

A four generation Ewing-Gianoli family shot!
