In late July Chris got to go with his dad and some friends to Sitka, Alaska to go fishing. They all got to bring home with them some of the catch - I've never tasted Halibut so fresh!

Chris and his dad is beautiful Alaska!After Chris and Jesse returned from Alaska they drove with Chris' sister Missy from Sacramento to our home to spend the weekend with us. We went to the beach on base and out to dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant. The next day we went to Avila Valley Farm which has a big produce stand with all kinds of fresh farm products, as well as fresh pies and sweet treats. They also house various farm animals in cages around the property. We bought a bag of produce for 25 cents and David spent a very happy half an hour feeding the goats and the sheep. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of our time in Avila - they're on Missy's camera, but here are some of the best pictures from the beach.

David with one of his beach "treasures"This last weekend, my mom and her boyfriend also came to visit us. It was nice to catch up and David had a blast playing on the slide at one of playgrounds on base with his Grandma.
